Responsibility for People, Society and the Environment
There is no single, universally accepted definition of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) or entrepreneurial social responsibility. At the core, Sachverständigenbüro Giancarlo Bethke understands CSR as a voluntary commitment to contribute to sustainable development that goes beyond legal requirements. As a small and medium‑sized enterprise, we consider it our corporate duty—guided by the United Nations’ Agenda 2030—to integrate sustainability into our daily operations and to accept our social responsibilities.
Business meetings
Sometimes business travel or commuting is unavoidable. Flying is the most climate‑damaging way to travel, and many short‑haul flights can be avoided. As a simple and effective sustainability measure, project staff at Sachverständigenbüro Giancarlo Bethke use Deutsche Bahn whenever possible. Compared with driving or the time‑consuming alternative of flying, train travel allows you to work comfortably and be genuinely productive.
Charitable Engagement
Project staff at Sachverständigenbüro Giancarlo Bethke have volunteered in various areas for many years. In addition to serving on advisory boards for social organisations and providers (Berliner Stadtmission) and acting as commercial judges at the Berlin Regional Court, our employees regularly donate blood to the Red Cross.
Energy - Electricity
It is a fact that electricity generation in Germany produces the most greenhouse gas emissions. Sachverständigenbüro Giancarlo Bethke has therefore decided to significantly reduce its own CO₂ footprint by switching to electricity from renewable sources. In addition, we use switchable power strips, programmable thermostats, devices with energy‑saving modes, and eco‑certified computers and laptops.
Old devises
When equipment used by Sachverständigenbüro Giancarlo Bethke becomes too old for company use, it is often still perfectly suitable for private households or local clubs. Donating old devices is a real alternative to disposal and can provide significant help to people or organisations in need. We also work with professionals for secure data erasure and refurbishment, where appropriate IT items can be handed in, professionally wiped and restored for renewed use.
Carsharing
Many companies still maintain small or large vehicle fleets, even though privately used cars naturally sit idle up to 90% of the time. For service providers such as DIEHOGA Hotelberatung, car‑sharing accounts are an attractive alternative: they are often cheaper than owning a vehicle and, through collective use, significantly more environmentally friendly—especially regarding resource consumption (fewer vehicles) and land use.
Paper
Sachverständigenbüro Giancarlo Bethke prints exclusively on recycled paper certified with the “Blue Angel” ecolabel, which guarantees that the paper fibers are made 100% from recovered paper. In addition, we only print what is strictly necessary and use the default double‑sided printing settings on our printers and copiers.
